About Ashley Drive
Ashley Drive is a residential care home in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. We support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people with a physical disability, younger adults and older people, and we also offer respite stays. The house is small and that is deliberate, because support built around real people works better than support built around a timetable. We spend time learning how each person communicates, what they can do for themselves, where they would like a hand and what tends to make a day difficult, and we set that out clearly so everyone supporting them works from the same understanding. For autistic residents, predictable routines and attention to sensory needs usually count for more than anything else we do. Where someone has a physical disability, the quality of our care shows in how help with washing, dressing and moving is given rather than simply in the fact of it. What we want is for people here to be supported to do things rather than have things done to them, including taking the ordinary risks that make a life feel like a life. Respite stays are planned in advance with visits beforehand so nothing about arriving is a surprise. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
