About Waymead Short Term Care
Waymead provides short term residential care in Bracknell for adults who have a learning disability and adults who are autistic. Short breaks are the whole of what we do, and doing only that lets us do it properly. A stay here might give a family carer a planned rest, cover a period when the usual arrangements are not possible, or simply give somebody a change of scene and a bit of time away from home in a place they know. Many of the people who come to us visit regularly, which means the house, the staff and the routine are familiar rather than strange, and that familiarity is what makes a short stay work. We plan each stay in advance with the person and their family so that we know how things are usually done at home and can keep to that as closely as possible. For the autistic people we support, knowing what is coming matters enormously, so we share plans ahead of time and avoid surprises. Because we see people repeatedly over the years, we get to know them well, and families tell us that is what lets them take a break without worrying. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please contact us to discuss a stay.
