About Chorley House
Chorley House is a residential care home in Bolton supporting adults with a learning disability or autism and adults living with mental health conditions. This is somewhere people live rather than somewhere they have been sent, and we run the household on that basis. Support here is individual. It can include help with personal care, medication, cooking, laundry, managing money and getting to appointments, and it takes in the things that make a week worth having: friendships, going out, keeping up an interest, having plans of your own. A settled, predictable routine matters greatly to most of the people we support, as does communication pitched to suit the individual. We give people the time to do things their own way rather than stepping in for the sake of speed, and where somebody wants more independence we plan support that draws back as their confidence grows. Most of the people we support are younger adults, and we take care not to treat them as a group with a single set of needs. Respite stays are available too, giving a family carer a real break or a settled place to be during a difficult period. We do not currently hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Please visit, meet the people who live here and ask us whatever you need to.
