About Groveland Park Care Home
Groveland Park is a residential care home in Bexleyheath. We are home to older people, including many living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. We also offer respite stays for families needing a planned break. Most of what makes a care home good is unglamorous and happens every day. Food people actually want to eat. Being helped to the bathroom without waiting. Laundry that comes back. Knowing the name of whoever is on this evening. Somebody noticing that you have been quieter than usual. We put our attention there rather than into anything that reads impressively from a distance. For residents living with dementia we protect routine and keep surroundings familiar, and we ask families for the working life, the places and the names, because those are what still connect when much else has gone. For residents with physical disabilities we plan the practical side around what the person can still do themselves rather than around what is quickest for us. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are proud of it and slightly cautious about it, because a rating describes a period rather than a permanent condition. Relatives are welcome to arrive unannounced, which is the only visit that shows you anything.
