About Moorend Place
Moorend Place is a nursing home in Sheffield, with registered nurses on duty around the clock alongside our care team. We look after older people whose health needs require nursing, younger adults with nursing needs, and people living with dementia. People usually come to us when their needs have grown beyond what residential care or support at home can safely manage. The nursing covers management of long term conditions, wound and skin care, continence support, help where eating and swallowing have become difficult, and careful oversight of medication. We work closely with local GPs, district nurses and therapy teams, and we ask for specialist advice early rather than waiting to see how things develop. For people living with dementia we pay attention to the ordinary things that help: a settled routine, familiar faces, rooms that make sense to walk around, and staff who understand that behaviour is usually communication rather than a problem to be contained. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Visitors are welcome and we would be glad to show you round.
