About Uplands Nursing Home
Uplands Nursing Home is a nursing home in Birmingham, with registered nurses on duty around the clock alongside our care team. We look after older people whose health needs require nursing, younger adults with nursing needs, people living with dementia, and people with physical disabilities. People generally come to us when their needs have grown beyond what residential care or support at home can safely meet. The nursing covers management of long term conditions, wound and skin care, continence support, help where eating and swallowing have become difficult, and careful oversight of medication. We work closely with local GPs, district nurses and therapy teams, and we ask for specialist advice early. What we work hardest to avoid is letting the clinical side take over the day. Someone living here is a person before they are a set of needs, and the parts of a week that matter most are usually the least medical ones: family visiting, a conversation that runs on, a turn round the garden. Respite stays are available. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and visitors are welcome.
