About The Lowedges
The Lowedges is a home care agency in Sheffield, supporting adults in their own homes across the area. We work with older people and with younger adults, including people living with a physical disability. What happens on a visit depends entirely on the person. For some it is help to wash, dress and get the day started, which is enough to make the rest of the day possible. For others it is several calls covering medication, meals, help to move safely about the house, shopping and getting to appointments. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating. We prefer to say that openly and would encourage anyone considering us to meet the manager and ask for references. Our view is that care at home should fit around a life that already exists rather than replace it. People have their own routines and clear opinions about what they want help with and what they would rather keep doing themselves, even when it takes longer. We ask first, agree the detail and write it down in ordinary language. If you are arranging support at home locally, please get in touch and we will come out and discuss it.
