About North Reablement Service
The North Reablement Service works with people in their own homes across Manchester. Reablement is the heart of what we do and it is worth explaining what we mean by it. Rather than taking tasks over, we work alongside people for a short period so that they can take those tasks back. Somebody coming out of hospital unsteady on their feet may need help with washing and cooking in the first week, less in the second, and by the fourth may well be managing alone again. That is the outcome we aim at. We support older adults, younger adults, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people with loss of sight or hearing, people managing mental health conditions, and people working through difficulties with alcohol or drugs. Where ongoing support is what is genuinely needed, we say so honestly rather than pretending independence is always around the corner. What we will not do is create a dependence that nobody asked for. Everything begins with a conversation about what the person would like to be able to do again. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please contact us if you would like to talk.
