About Inwood House
Inwood House is a residential care home in Wakefield providing a home for older people and for younger adults who need help with everyday life. We support people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, and people living with mental health conditions. The place runs at the pace of the people in it. Breakfast happens when somebody wakes rather than when a trolley arrives, and the day takes the shape a person wants. The care covers washing and dressing, medication, meals cooked here, mobility and the many small practical things that become difficult alone. For those living with dementia and for people managing mental health conditions, patience and familiarity achieve more than any amount of procedure. Our staff tend to stay with us, which means people here are looked after by faces they recognise, and that continuity counts for a great deal when memory or mood is unpredictable. Families are welcome whenever they want to come, and we would much rather hear a concern early than late. Respite stays are available. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and you are welcome to visit.
