About Segal Gardens
Segal Gardens is a residential care home in St Helens supporting adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, and people living with mental health conditions. Most of the people living here are younger adults, and for most of them this is a settled home rather than a temporary arrangement. We treat the place as belonging to the people who live in it. They arrange their own rooms, take part in the shopping and cooking as much as they want to, and decide how their days are spent. We support people to get out to work, to college, to clubs and to see family, and our job is to make those things possible rather than to fill a timetable on anybody's behalf. Support is individual and agreed with the person. Communication gets particular attention here, using whatever suits the individual. Where somebody is managing a mental health condition we have found that a calm and predictable household does more good than any specific intervention, and we build the week around that. Short respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a visit.
