About Oaklands – Residential
Oaklands is a residential care home in Rochdale providing a home for older people, younger adults, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, and people living with mental health conditions. We should be open about our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, which is requires improvement. We would rather raise it ourselves. We know which areas were identified, we have a plan of work under way covering staff training and supervision, our record keeping, and how people and their families are involved in decisions, and we are glad to talk through where we have got to with anyone considering us. The work of the house continues properly meanwhile. Support is built around the individual rather than around a label, agreed with the person and written in a form they can understand. Where somebody is managing a mental health condition, a calm and predictable household does more good than any particular intervention. People are supported to get out to work, college, clubs and family. Short respite stays are available. Please come and see the home and ask us anything.
