About Tudor Gardens
Tudor Gardens is a residential care home in Birmingham supporting adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people with loss of sight or hearing, and people living with mental health conditions. Many of the people here are younger adults. That range works because we build support around the individual rather than around a label. One person may need help with almost every part of the day and another hardly any, and both live here on the same terms. We ask each person what a good day looks like for them, write it down in a form that makes sense to them, and change it when they say so. Communication gets close attention, using speech, signing, symbols, objects of reference or simply the understanding that comes from knowing somebody well. For people with sensory loss we adapt how rooms are lit and how we approach and announce ourselves, because those small things decide whether a person is included. People here are supported to get out into Birmingham, to clubs, appointments and family. Respite stays are available. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
